CoolSculpting and DualSculpting: What’s the Difference?

Non-Invasive Body Sculpting

If you’re considering CoolSculpting or DualSculpting, you’re probably wondering what each procedure entails. Both CoolSculpting and DualSculpting are non-invasive procedures done to help rid the body of stubborn fat that lingers even after the introduction of a healthy diet and exercise. These treatments are done without the recovery time associated with traditional surgical methods.

While there are several methods used for non-surgical fat reduction, CoolSculpting and DualSculpting utilize cryolipolysis to reduce the presence of fat cells in a specific area. This is a controlled cooling process that is used to target and freeze stubborn fat cells, effectively destroying them. The effectiveness of these types of treatments has been proven through years of research and numerous clinical studies.

CoolSculpting

During the CoolSculpting process, a hand-held device is passed over the targeted area, administering a controlled cooling effect. This process is pain-free, however, some people report feeling a pinching or pulling sensation. This procedure generally takes around 2 to 3 hours depending on what area is being treated.

There is also no recovery time following a CoolSculpting procedure. However, one may experience some redness or soreness similar to that experienced after working out. These minor side effects generally subside after a few weeks.

Results are generally seen about two months after having the treatment done and fat cells may continue to diminish up to six months after the initial procedure. It is also important to consider that certain parts of the body may require multiple treatments to see the desired results.

DualSculpting

DualSculpting is available for those who are interested in CoolSculpting but wish to expedite the process. During this procedure, two CoolSculpting machines are used at once. Contrary to popular belief, “DualSculpting” does not mean that that the treatment is twice as strong or twice as effective—it simply means that two areas of the body are being treated simultaneously.

Some benefits of undergoing DualSculpting may include:

  • Precision: When treating symmetrical areas such as “love handles”, arms, and thighs, both sides can be treated for the exact same duration of time, giving more natural and balanced results.

  • Multiple targeted areas: Different parts of the body are able to be treated at the same time such as targeting the neck and belly.

  • Shorter treatment time: Because multiple areas can be treated simultaneously, treatments that may have taken 2 hours will now take 1.
