JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA is categorized as a deep-injection dermal filler, meaning it reaches down into the deeper tissues to provide deep support. To lessen the discomfort that typically accompanies deep injections, JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA contains lidocaine. This local anesthetic numbs the area against pain. A topical anesthetic may also be used on the skin of the target area before injections are performed. Once the first injection has been made, the lidocaine will begin to take effect, numbing the region. Additional injections will then be administered. The targeted areas may be massaged in order to make sure the filler gets evenly distributed.

The injection procedure only takes around 15 to 30 minutes to complete. 
It’s a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure, so no scalpels will be required.

What Happens After the Procedure Is Finished?

You won’t have to wait to see results; instead, the targeted areas will look more youthful and beautiful the moment the substance is administered, but optimal results take around 2 weeks to settle. Allow 48 hours of downtime after your procedure. During this time, it’s best to avoid any sort of physically strenuous activities. You’ll be free to return to regular activities after this period is over. For around two weeks, stay away from heavy sun exposure, as this can affect the healing skin tissues. Sunscreen is recommended. Juvéderm ® VOLUMA will slowly and harmlessly absorb into your body over time. You will be able to come in for touch-ups.
